MK Bozeman is a junior studio art major from Shreveport, La. When she’s not giving tours to prospective students as a Presidential Ambassador, you can find her on the softball field playing for the Majors.

The Purple and White: What made you come to Millsaps?

MK Bozeman: I like to tell people that I came for softball but stayed because I fell in love with the community. I still remember the first tour that I came on here and immediately fell in love with the campus and the people here and just knew that this is where I wanted to be.

P&W: So far, what has been your best memory on campus?

MK: Honestly, probably my 19th birthday. I had a project for my art class where I was supposed to go to a place, spend 20 minutes there and never go back. I went to the football tower overlooking the turf, and I went around 11:30 P.M. so by the time I left, it was already my birthday and that was pretty cool.

P&W: Who on campus has made the biggest impact on you thus far?

MK: Probably Alex Wicker. She’s my person. She’s always there if I need to talk or even if I don’t want to. I know she’ll be around to kind of get me through whatever is going on.

P&W: How do you de-stress before finals?

MK: I definitely listen to a lot of music. I have a Spotify playlist that is 30 hours long. I just roll through that for a while.

P&W: What’s the last thing you did for fun?

MK: Yesterday, instead of doing homework, I scrolled through Facebook for 4 hours.

P&W: Tell me an embarrassing story about yourself.

MK: The second tour I gave at Millsaps, I was walking down the Murrah stairs and tripped on that little half step and fell down the stairs in front of a big group of people. It was great.

P&W: If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

MK: Kraft mac and cheese. Old reliable.

P&W: Tell me one thing you hope people remember you for.

MK: Dedication. I want to be the person who doesn’t give up on something even when it’s hard.

The Purple and White thanks MK for answering these questions! If you or someone you know would like to be the next “Meet the Millsapian,” you can email me at clevecd@millsaps.edu.
