Millsaps Football players returned to practice recently to prepare for the upcoming season, which begins on Thursday, August 31s with the Riverside Rumble, when The Majors take on the Belhaven Blazers at Belhaven Bowl Stadium in Jackson. The Majors are looking to get their revenge on Belhaven, after losing a close game at home to them last year with a score of 28-25.
Following the game against Belhaven, Millsaps is on the road again the weekend after September 9, where they will take on Texas Wesleyan in Ft. Worth, Tex.
The home opener is on September 16, when Millsaps faces off against Trinity College. The Majors beat Trinity 24- 20 last year, and will look to do so again.
Millsaps faces Sewanee, who they defeated 33-30 last season, at home on September 23 before playing at Rhodes on September 30. Last season the Majors lost a close game to Rhodes by a final score of 37-31.
After Fall break, Millsaps travels to Sherman, Tex to play Austin College on October 14, before returning home to play Berry College and Centre College. The Majors lost road games to both Berry and Centre last season, and will look to get revenge on their home field. Millsaps hosts Berry College on October 21, and the game against Centre College, on October 28, is the final home game of the season, as well as the Homecoming game.
Millsaps ends the season with road games against Birmingham Southern on November 4, who they beat 41-28 last year, and Hendrix College on November 11, who they lost to last year by a score of 42-14.
All home games begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays, with the exception of the Homecoming game against Centre College that starts at 2:00 p.m.
