Welcome to Ask Emily, where I give my opinions on anything you want to hear. This week I discuss socks with sandals, Canada and more. Have a question for me and want to see it answered in a future edition of the P&W? You can submit your questions here: http://www.emilyopinions.tumblr.com/ask. Happy asking!

Q: Coffee?

A: Yes.

Q: What is your opinion on socks with sandals?

A: Practically, it makes sense. You can’t wear sandals in the winter without socks because your feet will be too cold. So if you want to utilize your summer footwear in the winter, it is the way to go. (I wouldn’t advise wearing this particular attire to, say, a job interview. But to each his own.)

Q: Am I a robot? Are you a robot? Is everyone else besides you and me a robot?

A: No.

Q: Planes, trains or automobiles?

A: Probably a plane, because you can travel a longer distance in less time. Also, car rides are very boring to me. (My three-and-a-half hour drive home is hard to manage.) And I haven’t been on enough trains to say whether I like them more.

Q: What are your thoughts on Canada?

A: I like Canada, although I have only been there once a few years ago. I remember that public transportation is common there and the people actually do say “eh.” Also, they do pronounce things differently (“project” is pronounced with a long “o”). I found out they use the metric system when, one time, I was communicating with a Canadian and she told me that it was 33 degrees out and “very hot.” I quickly deduced that she was telling me the temperature in Celsius. Other than that, I don’t have any particularly strong thoughts on the country. I would definitely go back though.
