The Lady Majors soccer team looks to build upon their successful end to last season with an experienced group of returning starters. The team is lead by nine seniors, which will provide the Lady Majors with the depth to push further into the conference tournament and compete for a conference championship.

Senior midfielder Dorothea Staursky, known for her scrappiness on the field, is excited about the camaraderie on the team. “We are a senior-heavy team and we have meshed after three years of playing with each other. We also brought in a talented group of freshmen and transfer who will contribute immediately,” she says.

During the summer, Amanda Paschall was honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America as one of the 30 best coaches under the age of 30. She led the Lady Majors to an appearance in the conference semifinals last season and looks to continue building a legacy at Millsaps.

“We are ready to make a run at the conference finals this year and reach our full potential,” says senior forward Whitney Murchison. The Lady Majors have been working hard in the offseason on new formations and are extremely focused on improving. “If we come to practice with 100 percent focus we will be successful,” says senior Hunter Futch.

With so much senior experience, an all-conference player in Taylor Winslow, and an improved Elise Davis goaltending, there is no reason why these Lady Majors can’t reach their lofty expectations.
